Thank you for visiting my shop. My name is Danny Stewart, I'm an ex-pat pro-level bassist living in Tokyo Japan, playing gigs, composing, teaching and running this shop (with the help of my family).
Bass Japan Direct is a service for bassists anywhere in the world to have the opportunity to get some of Japan's finest instruments without the headache of language barrier and high taxes. I established this service as I believe that Japan, due to its rich wood-working culture, offers some of the finest instruments out there, but they are not so easy for outsiders to access. I set up shop after spending years researching brands and builders, and now offer a source-to-door service in supplying you with the MIJ bass of your dreams be it new, used or custom made. I work with a number of excellent builders and also collaborate in partnership with a number of leading shops....so the sky is the limit really. I can supply my customers with nearly anything! To this day I have shipped out hundreds of new, used and custom order basses to happy customers around the world. Because this is a small family run operation there are no communication issues, just efficient, friendly and effective service.
