The brand as started in 2006 by Satoru Yatsuzuka, the master luthier at Deviser's Aska factory. The Aska factory has been manufacturing guitars for many years. These include their own brand names, and OEM products of domestic and foreign high-end guitar makers. It is known for high quality craftsmanship and exquisite level of detail in guitar building.
STR embodies Satoru’s relentless pursuit for creating instruments that surpasses the player’s imagination, built to the highest level of precision, quality, tone and with the best available material. Satoru is deeply involved with every stage of the intricate manufacturing process of STR guitars to put his spirit into the instruments.
STR are at the top of their game here in Japan and in perhaps the world for that matter. As part of the Deviser brand line up, STR is their flagship hand made boutique line up often referred to as the "Fodera of Japan". These instruments are true works of art, hand crafted by the industry's finest.

Anyway, as you can see the pictures give you spec details too so you can get an idea of what you can expect from STR.
Basically, STR can build you anything you like and prices will range somewhwere between $3200 for a simple construction bass like the Natural Ash 6 string custom pictured above, all the way up to $8500 for the DSC648 with the incredible inlay work and exotic woods.
The other instruments pictured lie in between those prices, being around the $4200 mark on average. PLEASE INQUIRE IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ANY OF THE MODELS PICTURED and we can arrange payment options.
Custom builds and payments.
We require a deposit of $500 on STR basses (you can make a direct deposit below on this page) and then can accept installments up until completion. Lead time is 3 - 4 months on average.
The deposit can be accepted through Ebay and the rest can be done by Paypal, credit card or again through Ebay, however Ebay fees will apply in this case therefore we recommend using Paypal direct or the deposit button below.
Payment plans on existing stock
We also allow customers to buy existing STR's in advance, again a $500 deposit is required through Ebay to reserve the instrument (at this time we will advance the payment for the bass so that it is actually in our custody so to speak), and the balance can be paid off for a period of up to 6 months in installments with 0% interest. If you choose to do this through Ebay extra fees will be required to cover their commission fees so again we recommend doing this outside direct through Paypal or by credit card.
Once the bass is paid off we will ship it to you.
We know these instruments are expensive, but we also know they are WORTH EVERY CENT, (and hey, they aren't actually that pricey for this kind of market) which is why we are here to help you get the bass of your dreams!
Shipping
All STR basses ship with either a high end semi hard case or a hard case.
We ship globally,to most destinations. Shipping will cost between $130 and $150 for 5 day expedited shipping or $80 to $100 for 2 week SAL shipping.
We have special shipping options if required. Please inquire for details.
Returns and cancellations:
YES we accept returns on faulty goods within 2 weeks, buyer pays return shipping.
YES you CAN cancel a custom order, but it will incur a cancellation fee of %15 of total cost.
